We run a broad range of lessons at Midsomer Norton and Writhlington Leisure Centres and are currently looking for coaches in Climbing, Dance, Gymnastics, Tennis and Trampoline.
Hours of work – Daytime and evening hours over 7 days a week. Flexible hours available.

The Community Activator Coach Level 2 develops skills and knowledge for the learner to deliver and coach a range of physical activities within a community. Learners gain the skills, confidence and knowledge to deliver life-changing coaching to improve people’s health and well-being. Apprentices will become Associate Members of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity once the programme is completed.

Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer

A Level 2 Fitness qualification is essential and to deliver Personal Training, you would also need to hold a Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification. As a Fitness Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our customers receive the highest standard of care and support and you’ll need to use your initiative. A keen eye for detail will benefit this role within the gym environment.
Duties include exercise programme writing, supervising the gym and motivating customers, trying to greet every single user as a minimum requirement. We expect the successful candidate to maintain a high level of knowledge, keeping abreast of new trends within the industry. Ensuring the gym is clean and well maintained at all times is a matter of priority. A pro-active and positive attitude will be fundamental to success.
For Personal Training, we want highly skilled and experienced trainers who want to build a client base within our gym. They need to be fun and enthusiastic about providing support for clients on the gym floor. You’ll be given exclusive access to our membership base and would be able to build your own diary.

The Leisure Team Member is responsible for a range of operational duties such as assisting with the opening and closing of the facility, undertaking routine maintenance of equipment and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the leisure environment. We are looking to recruit party hosts to join our team. This role is ideally suited to students in full-time education looking for part-time work.
We’re looking for confident, out-going people who can engage with and inspire children.
Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for the delivery of our children’s birthday party packages including the delivery of fun games and activities, set-up and set-down of equipment, liaison with parents and general supervision of children.
You will need to work as part of a team and ensure a strong customer focus and show good organisational skills.

Midsomer Norton Leisure Centre
Hours of work – Saturdays 8 – 11am (3 hours)
Hourly rate of pay – £17 per hour for Level 2 qualified teachers.
We are looking for a Swimming Teacher who holds a Level 2 qualification with Swim England, though we also welcome level 1 teachers with a view to progress.
Successful candidates must be passionate about learning to swim and have a focus on their own continued personal development. They will work within our busy programme and must be able to work with all abilities, delivering popular and productive sessions. Previous experience of teaching is desirable but not essential – they must be willing to teach from the side and ideally from in the water at certain stages too.
This roles offer specifically offers 4 hours, 50 weeks a year teaching Learn to Swim groups from Stage 1 upwards. As part of the team, you’ll also be offered other opportunities within our timetable, both in short term cover and permanent hours as they arise.
