Before leaving home and on your return
Do not come to the facility if you are showing any symptoms of Covid-19 (temperature, cough, difficulty breathing, or anosmia e.g. loss of taste or smell).
To reduce time spent in changing areas, please consider the following guidance:
Arrive ready to swim (private changing should still be available for those that require it). Both changing rooms have designated numbered changing spaces with minimum of 2m gaps between them. Please ensure you use the numbered locations when changing. Once you have finished your swim, leave the venue as soon as you can.
Shower at home, pre and post swimming. A single shower will be available on poolside if essential. The changing room showers will not be available. Please arrive wearing your swimwear under your clothing and shower at home pre and post swimming as this will help minimise time spent in the changing rooms and help maintain good water quality.
Wash hands before leaving your home. Take hand sanitiser with you and use prior to entry. You will be required to sanitise your hands prior to entry at one of our designated on site for use at various stages of activity.
Take any equipment/aids with you (floats, kick boards etc.) ensuring it is clean and identifiable as yours before you arrive.
At the facility
Whilst in the building and the pool, follow our visible guidance on social distancing, direction of travel and other risk control measures that are in place.
Spend as little time as possible in the changing rooms, whilst following the our visible guidance on maintaining safe levels of distance.
We would ask parents / guardians to wait outside / in their cars if dropping off or collecting children aged 8 years or older (children aged 8 or over MUST be strong swimmers if attending without an adult). Children under 8 MUST to accompanied in the pool by an adult.
Only 1 parent / guardian can spectate at a time and only if essential (for medical reasons). We are only able to accommodate a small number of spectators so this is subject to capacity. Social distancing must be practiced at all times. Small yellow dots, spaced 2 meters apart, have been applied to the floor on the upper and lower viewing areas. Please ensure you stand on a yellow dot when spectating. Please wait outside or in your car if you’re unable to find an available yellow dot. Anyone not adhering to these rules will be ask to comply, repeat offenders will be asked to leave.
In the pool
Follow our visible directions for entry and exit to the correct area of the pool.
Swimming Lessons – resuming from 1st September
Lessons will be staggered to ensure social distancing can be maintained.
We would ask that children arrive with their costumes under their clothes to avoid spending too long in the changing rooms.
People of different standards and abilities will use the pool. Please respect their right to enjoy their swim.
Do not make physical contact with other participants. Where possible keep to social distancing guidelines.
Speed and overtaking
Choose your lane using the fast or slow signs and by watching those already swimming. Please do not overtake whilst swimming. Before pushing off at each turn, check to see if anyone faster is approaching.
Please follow the directional signs and move across to the appropriate side of the lane for each length.
Always attempt to maintain appropriate social distance between yourself and another swimmer or class participant.
Wide strokes such as butterfly should be avoided when the lanes become busy. If you change to a slower stroke as part of your session, think about moving lanes.
Whether stopping for a rest or catching your breath after completing your swim, please be mindful that others using the lane will want to keep on swimming without stopping; so keep yourself to the edge of the lane allowing others to turn at the wall, turning head away and allowing others to maintain social distancing measures.
Stay hydrated by bringing your own ‘pre-filled’ water bottle on to poolside during your swim.
