The following operating procedures are based on current government and National Governing Body guidance at the time of publishing (26th November 2020). 

Advance bookings only via our app (search DragonflyLeisure in the app store or google play) or online platform. Bookings available 9 days in advance for inclusive members and 7 days for pay-as-you-go members. Please note you will not be able to attend without a booking. Refunds are not available if you are unable to attend your booking, click here for our refund and cancellation policy.

General Guidance

Please arrive changed as changing rooms will not be available. Toilet facilities will be available however access may be limited so please use the toilet before leaving home.

Hand sanitiser will be available when entering reception for badminton and the indoor tennis centre. We advise customers to bring their own hand sanitiser to sanitise during play and particularly after touching equipment.

Avoid touching the net and posts. If you do touch them, please sanitise your hands immediately.

Sanitise your hands before, after and during play particularly after touching the other equipment including balls/shuttlecocks.

Do not share equipment.

Where possible players should bring their own rackets. Rackets should not be shared. Rackets can still be hired from reception; these will be sanitised before and after use.

Players must avoid using their hands to pick up shuttles or balls from other courts; where possible – use your own racket or foot to return them.

Bring a full water bottle as there will not be a facility for you to replenish it on site.

Benches/seating will be removed.

Where attendance of a parent/guardian (non-participant) is required, or a carer for a disabled player, this should be off court and limited to one per player where possible, with social distancing strictly observed while watching the sessions.

Avoid congregating on or around the courts after play to allow safe access for others.

Tier 1

Singles are permitted between different households.

Doubles are permitted between different households as long as social distancing is maintained.

Please note only a maximum of 4 players will be permitted per court.

Badminton & Table Tennis England recommend that you do not change ends.

Badminton Only – Unless players are from the same household, players must not play at the net.

Badminton Only – Wherever possible, the whole court area (including the side/back tramlines) can be used. However, if social distancing between players on adjacent courts cannot be maintained, play should only take place within the singles court markings.

Tier 2 

The following are permitted: 

  • Adults – singles only from multiple households, doubles play is only permitted from same household
  • Juniors/disability – singles and doubles if supervised 
  • 1-1 coaching 

Tier 3

The following are permitted:

Adults – same household or support bubble only

Juniors/disability – singles and doubles if supervised


Tennis Specific Guidance

Spectators are not permitted. Parents / Guardians are requested to remain in their car.

Tier 1

Singles and doubles can be played with people from different households (rule of 6), and recreational competitions (including club nights), can take place as long social distancing guidelines are adhered to.

Coaching is permitted with groups restricted to 6 and 15 for adults and juniors respectively.

Tier 2

Singles only for adults from different households.

Singles and doubles are permitted for same household / bubble.

Singles and doubles for disabled people and supervised activity for under 18’s.

Adult group coaching is not permitted.

Junior group coaching is permitted.

Tier 3 

Singles and doubles are permitted for same household / bubble.

Singles and doubles for disabled people and supervised activity for under 18’s.

Junior group coaching is permitted for groups up to a maximum of 15.
